Meet you in a specific place (airport, hotel, your home, etc.) by a private car. Then, head directly to the center of Great Rann of Kutch, Bhuj (about 6-7 hours).

In the morning, visit the view point for great salt field that appears only in the dry season and White Rann (salt field). After lunch, tour the villages in Banni area where the original techniques of dyeing and embroidering are succeeded to. Visit Nirona Village where the techniques of castor-oil processed Rogan painting and tin craft are succeeded to, the village of Mutwa tribe craft the mirror embroider, and the village of Meghwal tribe wears bright embroidered clothes.

Lunch is planned to take at Shaam-e-Sarhad in an eco resort in the Hodka Village. However, if it is closed due to a season or the short sightseeing hour for winter season, a lunch box (Indian bento) is prepared for you.

Head to Bajana by a private car (5-6 hours). In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari in the wetland of Little Rann of Kutch. Drive on the ground where the last Asiatic wild asses, Nilgai, and the birds such as Flamingoes inhabit.

Drinking
The state of Gujarat is the state of prohibiting drinking. Therefore, people are not allowed to drink in the public places such as restaurants and if you want to drink, you may do within your hotel room. Buying a bottle of alcoholic is limited at a shop having the liquor permission during shop open hours. If you want to buy alcoholic drinks at the locale, please tell us before your departure, then we inform the guide on it beforehand. Also, please prepare the copies of passport, India visa, and India immigration stamp.
Application for BSF permission
In order to visit the Dhorodo Village, which is located in the Great Rann of Kutch that is the border zone to Pakistan, and the White Rann (White Desert), the foreigners must acquire the permission of BSF(BODER SECURITY FORCE CHECK POST). Please bring your passport (original) and the photocopies of your passport and India visa with you. And, please understand the tour schedule may be affected by the acquisition process of this permission, as well.

The Great Rann of Kutch

The state of Gujrat continuously succeeds the various handicrafts, despite today may be rare to touch with the authentic handicraft.
Kutch came from the word of “Kachbo” means “tortoise (turtle)”. There, the salt wetlands spread out called the “Great Rann of Kutch”. In the sever environment when the land is covered with water in the rainy season and the people live in here cultivate the handcrafts to decorate and to give an accent to the plain ordinary life.
In January 2001, the great earthquake attacked here in Gujarat and the traditional mud made houses called “Bhunga” were destroyed mostly. Today, the region became famous in the world because of the high level techniques of handicrafts, and the original works are created in various villages.

White Rann

In the Kutch District, the salt field becomes dry in winter to cause the earth to be white. That scene became popular among the Indian tourists and even a tent village appears. Little Rann of Kutch
The Little Rann Kutch is the huge flatland of which earth is cracked and salty. Here is the Little Rann of Kutch Wildlife Sanctuary where the last Asiatic wild asses inhibit in India. They habit on the plain covered with grasses and on the hill called bed which turn to be an island in the rainy season in the Little Rann of Kutch. The asses are very timid and run away keeping a certain distance if a man approaches them. In addition, the nesting grounds of Flamingos exist and the migratory birds are observed. Around here, you view the sceneries of villages of Rabari, Ahil and Bharwad are likely the Gujarat and the sceneries of grazing.
Modhera Sun Temple
In 11th century, this temple was constructed by King Bhimdev I. As to Sun Temple, the Surya Temple in Konark, the State of Orissa is designated as the World Heritage site is famous. This Modhera Surya Temple is 200 years younger than that. It is built the sunlight shines into the main shrine in which the Sun God Surya is worshiped, only for two days in a year. There are 52 pcs of pillars on which the scenes (episodes) of Ramayana and Mahabharata are carved and on the exterior walls the intricate carvings are made, as well.

Rani Ki Vav Tour the queen’s step well
In June 2014, a step well has been registered as the World Heritage site is located in the suburbs of Patan. This well is constructed by a queen who was a dowager of the Solanki dynasty in 11th century for her King’s memory and fame.
A “step well” is the well typically made in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan where suffer from the chronical water shortage. The step well was used as not only supplying water to people, but also employing for a natural cooler utilizing evaporative cooling. On the wall of well, carved the Hindu deities and fables delicately is a kind of art makes people who are cooling, have an enjoyable time.
Rani ki Vav is the oldest step well in Gujarat, a rectangular in shape; 64m in length, 20m in width and 27m in depth and consists of 7 layers. On the wall, more than 800 pcs of reliefs of Hindu deities are depicted. Especially, the beauty and exquisiteness of relief of the avatar (incarnation) Lord Vishnu fascinates. Rani ki Vav was forgotten for a while due to the Saraswati River overflowed caused the Vav was covered with sand. After 1958, the Archeological Survey of India dug up and repaired it, revealed all the Rani ki Vav again. Being under sands kept it as it was beautiful in the past.

Patan Patola (splashed pattern / Double Ikat)
Among the splashed patterns, Patola is required very high skills to produce. At first, all craftsmen input the final design in their memories. The first process is to die the thread of warp and the thread of woof. Bundling a thin silk thread, and tied by a cotton thread at many places and die, untied and die and continue the processes to die more than 10 colors. At present, there is not many people exist who are succeeded in this high skill and it is said only the Salvi family in Patan. Patola is not sold in a market, but it is produced by order made system. One sally costs one car. It is said if a daughter wears a sally made of Patola that Salvi wove at her wedding ceremony, the family’s class becomes higher.
